WQ Ideas
I would like to do a WebQuest on CST Prep. I have created this idea from countless complaints from students that "they just don't understand CST questions and they think it is sooooo boring." So I figured I could create vocabulary links explaing CST questions, video links that show an unusual animal name mentioned as a character in a short story, links to pictures of vocabulary words, and so on and so forth. I would like to create it in a treasure hunt manner or a scavenger hunt manner. I have seen a few of these webquest done and I know my students like the treasure hunt games provided at eduplace.com via HM curriculum. CST is such a lengthy and can be a terrible experience for students and I think incorporating technology into this process would be great!

Allie, I like that you want to make the WQ meaningful to your students, but what you need to remember about a WQ is that it should be designed so the students are using higher order thinking skills and applying what they know. I'm not sure test prep is suited to that. The only way I see it working is if you actually have students apply what they learn from the different websites to write their own CST, but even then I'm not sure that's an effective use of a WQ
